The Miss Perham Scholarship Organization has been active for over 25 years and serves as a leading achievement and scholarship program for some of Minnesota's most accomplished young women.

The Miss Perham title is a "closed" title; Meaning, you must be a student from Perham High School to be eligible to compete.

In 2005, the program welcomed a new "open" title and crowned the very first Miss Heart of The Lakes, Karen Stordahl, who would go on to win the title of Miss Minnesota.

The Miss Heart of The Lakes title is awarded to any young woman between the ages of 17-24 who lives, works full time, or is a full time student in the state of Minnesota.

Both titleholders will advance to the Miss Minnesota Pageant where they will compete against young women from across the state for the title of Miss Minnesota, an official preliminary pageant to the Miss America Pageant!
